Leap GIO Public: Powerful enterprise-grade Cloud solutions for your organizations
Leap Solutions Asia Co., Ltd. (LSA) is a well-known cloud service provider that partners with prestigious IT organizations such as SAP and Oracle to provide reliable Private Cloud services through Business Critical Applications. Lately, Leap announced the launch of its new product line, the ‘Leap GIO Public’ platform that meets stringent Japanese standards and highlights well-selected enterprise-grade IT Infrastructure.
This article will introduce Leap’s Leap GIO Public as a new cloud service alternative in Thailand.
Leap Solutions Asia: Leading service provider of enterprise cloud
Leap Solutions Asia Co., Ltd. (LSA) was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between T.C.C. Technology Co., Ltd., Thailand’s leading provider of Cloud-Enabled Data Centers and IT infrastructure, and Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), Japan’s first internet service provider and a leading provider of enterprise cloud services in Japan and the world. Through this collaboration, Leap has developed enterprise cloud services hosted on data centers in Thailand under the ‘Leap GIO Cloud’ brand (GIO stands for Grand IT On-demand).
Previously, Leap was widely known for its Leap GIO Public and Leap GIO Private services. Its Private Cloud solution of SAP Cloud has been certified to the SAP standard in three categories including Hosting Services, Cloud Services, and SAP HANA Operations Services. Moreover, the solution comes complete with Manage Services to satisfy the needs of corporate customers.
Leap GIO Public: The latest version of Public Cloud
On 15 June 2017, Leap unveiled the Leap GIO Public platform to serve corporate customers requiring the Public Cloud service. The new platform fully integrates outstanding features in terms of speed, stability, security and operational standards.
Effective enterprise solutions by Leap’s experienced service team
Another highlight of Leap GIO Public is the Leap team, made up of professionals with extensive experience in offering the Private Cloud service of SAP Cloud. Leap, therefore, fully understands the demands of its enterprise customers and has utilized enterprise-grade technologies for its latest version of the Public Cloud service. Leap GIO Public is superior to other public cloud platforms in the aspects of technology selection and experience of the Leap service team and has proven successful in answering the needs of enterprise customers.
The new platform’s hardware employs HPE 3PAR for data storage with high availability features to effectively serve enterprise customers. The platform is boosted by the Manage Services delivered by the attentive Leap team, as well as servers to facilitate speedy network connections of 10GbE with redundancy support. All hardware components are designed for high availability to ensure the utmost efficiency of the cloud system.
For software, the platform runs on VMware vSphere’s Hypervisor to guarantee high levels of stability, in conjunction with a cloud controller CloudStack system. Many tests conducted by the Leap team in Japan, which has extensive experience in delivering cloud services in several countries, have found that when compared to other cloud controller systems, CloudStack has demonstrated higher efficiency, making it the ideal premium software for Leap GIO Public.
In addition to its Web Application system, Leap has further developed an easy-to-manage User Interface for customers who require a less sophisticated cloud system. The new interface allows users to create their own Virtual Machine (VM) easily on Leap GIO Public with just a few steps, instead of building the VM on CloudStack, which requires more time and procedures.
Users of Leap GIO Public can rest assured of the platform’s high stability guaranteed by an SLA of 99.99% uptime and 24/7 technical support, attentively handled by the Leap professionals at Network Operations Center (NOC), who are always ready to provide customers with productive solutions. Leap has been certified to the international-standard ISO/IEC/20000-1: 2011 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certifications for Information Technology Service Management and Information Security Management System of the cloud system. The platform is definitely a smart choice for organizations seeking an extremely stable and high-standard public cloud system.
Workflow with higher security than any other cloud service
Users of the Leap GIO Public platform are always required to login using Two-Factor Authentication and enter a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their emails in order to enhance security. This vividly differentiates the platform from other cloud services in Thailand.
In light of Virtual Machine (VM) creation, the platform enables users to set up Port and Network Policy freely, which helps lower the risk of attacks as soon as the VM operates. To build Linux Image, users are required to use only an SSH Key to ensure a highly-secure password setup.
Flexible Image Template building: Upload .iso .and .ova files as you like
Another outstanding characteristic of Leap GIO Public is flexibility. The platform allows users to create Image Template on the VM independently by accommodating uploads of .iso and .ova files during VM booting and installation of other operating systems (OS). If users find that the available templates on the platform’s catalogue which are compatible with Windows, CentOS and Ubuntu OS do not match their needs, they can either upload .iso of the OS or. ova of the Virtual Appliance they want to use by themselves.
This feature has set Leap GIO Public apart from other public cloud services as it is commonly found in the Private Cloud service, rather than the Public one.
Highly adjustable network and security systems & diverse connectivity
Leap GIO Public also impresses enterprise customers with its adaptability features. The platform empowers users to specify their network and security systems, be it VPN (Virtual Private Network) creation, either in the Site-to-Site or Server-to-Client format, Firewall specifications adjustment, as well as integrates Port Forwarding and Load Balancer tools. All are designed to achieve High Availability (HA) to best suit business applications.
Furthermore, the platform can be conveniently connected to users’ data centers and their own WAN Link can be directly linked to TCC Technology (TCCtech)’s data center, making it another ideal option and creating greater flexibility for enterprise customers.
Hourly or monthly service to fit your application
Leap GIO Public offers two billing systems to choose from. Monthly service is highly-recommended for organizations with a clear plan on the use of cloud service, which is less costly than the hourly service. The latter is appropriate for those wanting to undertake trials on some applications or software development projects, which will help minimize their costs significantly, with no charges incurred when the platform is turned off.
Dedicated Private Cloud for major customers
For Leap’s major customers who normally use the Leap GIO Public platform or those planning to use VM regularly, Leap also provides the Leap GIO Private platform, with entirely dedicated hardware for each company. This aims to raise customer confidence in efficiency, stability and maintenance as if they had their own data center, with cloud technology always on hand. Interested persons can find additional details on the platform on Leap’s Leap GIO Private web page.
As well, Leap offers SAP Cloud and Oracle Cloud Machine (OCM) to serve business applications, ensuring hassle-free maintenance whereby customers can pass on this burden to the professional and fully-certified Leap team.
